Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), has said president Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government doesn’t make noise over the breakthroughs recorded in the security sector since his assumption of office.

The NSA stated this while speaking on the security situation in the country during the ongoing 19th Annual Nigerian Editors Conference (ANEC) in Uyo on Thursday, with the theme: “Stimulating Economic Growth, Technological Advancement: Role of the Media.”

While noting that although he was not out to criticize anyone, he claimed that the current administration inherited a tough period

Ribadu also noted that the militancy in the Niger Delta as well as the insecurity in the South East had been reduced since the beginning of Tinubu’s administration, assuring that it will get better.

According to him: “Let me start with the Niger Delta, at the time we took over, the production of crude oil was 1.1 mbd. Today crude oil production is over 1.7 mbd.

“We have witnessed three weeks without any incident of security challenges in the Niger Delta. This is the first time since 1993 but we don’t talk.

“In the South East, when we took over last year we had 46 police stations attacked, today we don’t have one single one.

“In the last two months, not a single person had been killed through the violent attack in the southeast, we don’t talk. The leadership we have in our country does understand things a bit better. Work more talk less,”
