Tinubu praised the organisers of the historic cultural event for sustaining it for over eight decades despite social, economic and security challenges.

“Today, this festival stands as a powerful symbol of unity, resilience and peaceful coexistence among our people,” the President said.
“It reflects the richness of our culture, the strength of our traditions and the immense opportunities in harnessing our natural and human resources for national development.”

The President noted that the relative peace currently enjoyed in Kebbi State and neighbouring areas is the result of deliberate investments in intelligence gathering, improved coordination among security agencies and active community engagement.

“The peace we are witnessing today is not accidental. It is the product of deliberate and sustained efforts,” Tinubu stated.

He assured Nigerians that his administration remains determined to defeat banditry, insurgency and other security threats.

“I assure you that the fight against banditry, insurgency and insecurity will be won. Our farmers, fishermen, traders and families will carry out their lawful activities without fear,” he said.

Tinubu also reiterated his government’s focus on youth and women empowerment, irrigation development, rural electrification and increased agricultural productivity, stressing that culture remains a vital tool for national unity and tourism growth.

Earlier, Nasir Idris, Governor of Kebbi State, said his administration is committed to upgrading the Argungu Fishing Festival to full international standards while accelerating development across key sectors of the state
