After concluding his engagements in the Caribbean, President Tinubu will head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to participate in the 17th BRICS Summit scheduled for July 6 to 7, 2025.
Nigeria is attending the summit as a partner country, reinforcing its ambition to play a larger role in shaping South-South cooperation.

The 2025 summit is expected to focus on “Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance,” with agenda points centred on equitable economic development, environmental sustainability, and geopolitical rebalancing.
