Tinubu Nominates Enugu Attorney-General Kingsley Udeh as Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Enugu State, for appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The nomination was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session.

According to the letter, Tinubu said he was pleased to forward the name of Dr Udeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), to the Senate for confirmation as part of his administration’s efforts to strengthen the federal cabinet.

The President urged the Senate to give the nomination expeditious consideration, expressing confidence in Udeh’s competence and professional record.

“While I hope that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, the Senate President and distinguished senators, the assurances of my highest regards,” the letter stated.

Following the reading of the letter, Senator Akpabio referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for immediate consideration.

If confirmed, Dr Kingsley Udeh will join the federal executive council as one of the latest additions to President Tinubu’s ministerial team.
