President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Dr. Chioma Ejikeme as the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) just 13 months after her reappointment to the role in October 2023.

The President’s decision was announced in a statement by the Head of Corporate Communications at PTAD, Olugbenga Ajayi, on Monday.

The statement revealed that Tolulope Odunaiya has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary of PTAD, taking office on November 18, 2024. Odunaiya succeeds Dr. Ejikeme, who held the position from August 2019 to November 2024.

In her first address to the PTAD staff, Odunaiya expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the directorate and pledged to build on the achievements of her predecessors.

“It is with a deep sense of responsibility and purpose that I address you as the new Executive Secretary of this Directorate,” she said. Odunaiya highlighted her vision of a collaborative and unified work environment, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the well-being of pensioners.

“I urge all of us to transcend personal interests and come together around our shared purpose: improving the lives of our pensioners, who have selflessly served this nation, often in challenging circumstances,” she added.

Dr. Ejikeme’s tenure has now ended after a year-long reappointment, and the leadership change is expected to bring a new direction for PTAD, focusing on enhancing the pensions management system in Nigeria.
