In a reshuffle of his ministerial cabinet, President Bola Tinubu has announced the dissolution of the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development, effective immediately.

This restructuring was confirmed during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday.

Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesperson, disclosed that the scrapped ministries will be replaced by a newly established Ministry of Regional Development.

This new ministry is tasked with overseeing all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission and others representing various geopolitical zones.
