President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his visit to Rome for the inauguration of Pope Leo XIV.

Tinubu was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by top government officials including Nyesom Wike, George Akume, and APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived back in Nigeria after attending the historic inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV in Vatican City.
The event, which drew global attention, marked the commencement of a new papacy with Tinubu present among other world leaders and dignitaries.
The President landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Tuesday evening.

Upon arrival, he was warmly received by key government officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje.
Speaking on the significance of the event earlier, a presidential aide noted: “President Tinubu’s presence at the Vatican signals Nigeria’s respect for global institutions and its readiness to foster strong diplomatic and interfaith relations.”
