In a letter to the Senate, Tinubu nominated Senator Magnus Abe as chairman of the NUPRC board. Abe, a former senator representing Rivers South East, is a former NNPC board member and currently chairs the National Agency of the Great Green Wall.

Other nominees for the NUPRC board include Paul Yaro Jezhi and Sunday Adebayo Babalola as non-executive commissioners, alongside executive commissioners for finance, exploration, economic regulation, development, corporate services, and health, safety, and environment.

For the NMDPRA board, Tinubu nominated Adegbite Ebiowei Adeniji, a lawyer with over 30 years in energy and natural resources, as chairman. Other board members include Chief Kenneth Kobani, Asabe Ahmed, and executive directors overseeing finance, hydrocarbons, midstream and downstream gas infrastructure, corporate services, distribution systems, and economic regulation.

Barrister Olawale Dawodu is nominated as board secretary and legal adviser.
The nominations follow the recent Senate confirmation of CEOs for the agencies: Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan for NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed for NMDPRA.

Tinubu urged all nominees to discharge their duties professionally as regulators of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
