President Tinubu has issued a stern warning to state governments over unauthorized land use on federal road setbacks.
Speaking at the Epe-Ijebu Ode port access road project launch, he vowed to revoke all illegal approvals.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a strong and unequivocal warning to state governments, declaring that his administration will revoke all land approvals granted on federal road setbacks without proper clearance.
Speaking Thursday at the official launch of the reconstruction of the Deep Sea Port Access Road through Epe-Ijebu Ode, the President accused state authorities of uncoordinated urban planning and warned of serious federal repercussions for non-compliance.
“Please, our dear governors, let’s work together. Don’t give planning approvals without collaborating with the Surveyor General of the Federation and the Ministry of Works on these roads,” Tinubu declared at the event, emphasizing that future approvals on such federal pathways will be strictly monitored.

Illegal Approvals in the Crosshairs
In a direct warning to the Lagos State Government and others engaging in unsanctioned land allocations, Tinubu affirmed that his government is prepared to act decisively to preserve critical infrastructure corridors.
“I’m glad the Deputy Governor of Lagos State is here. Take it that we will revoke all those approvals given on setbacks, and please note that we are very serious about it—no more approvals for those unapproved islands being created illegally,” he stated in a video obtained from TVC News.
