President Bola Tinubu has unveiled an ambitious plan to transform the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) into a world-class city, with the inauguration of the Arterial Road N20.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu revealed that the project was a critical component of his administration’s comprehensive plan to revitalize the FCT’s infrastructure and promote sustainable development.
The President stressed the project’s alignment with his administration’s broader objectives of enhancing urban infrastructure and preparing cities for future challenges.
He also commended the project’s creation of over 1,500 employment opportunities for Nigerians, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to job creation and youth empowerment.

President Tinubu spoke about his approval of naming the road after Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria’s literary and cultural heritage.
He praised the efforts of the FCT Administration, contractors, engineers, and all stakeholders involved in the project’s successful completion.
Minister Wike, in his remarks, thanked Tinubu for his vision and commitment to transforming the FCT, making it a model for future development projects.
Executive Secretary Shehu Hadi Ahmad provided an overview of the project, revealing its features, including a six-lane dual carriageway, extensive underground utilities, and streetlights, which will enhance vehicular traffic circulation and improve the overall quality of life in the FCT.
