Pastor Arex Akemotubo, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Waffi TV has urged President Bola Tinubu to disregard resistances towards the recent appointment of Chief Dennis Otuaro as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

Akemotubo pointed out in his letter addressed to the President that the resistance to Otuaro’s appointment expressed by the Delta State APC Transparency and Advocacy Group (DSATAG) on April 8, 2024 should be disregarded for the greater good of all Deltans.

He commended the President’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusion in governance, stating that the present administration has consistently shown that decisions should be based on excellence and dedication to service.

According to the CEO, Otuaro’s credentials are impressive, adding that his extensive experience and track record speak volumes.

Akemotubo said:

“For the utmost respect for your considered decision-making in leading our great nation. I write to you concerning the recent appointment of Chief Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, an appointment that has been met with some resistance according to the press release from the Delta State APC Transparency and Advocacy Group (DSATAG) dated 8th April, 2024.

“It is pertinent at this juncture to counsel against succumbing to sentiments that disregard the fabric of inclusion and meritocracy within our governance.

“Your leadership has shown an unwavering commitment to creating a government where merit, capability, and inclusion are the bedrock upon which decisions are made. This approach has not only strengthened the integrity of our public institutions but has also sent a bold message that excellence and a dedication to service are the true attributes that qualify one to serve.

“Chief Dennis Otuaro is a figure whose experience and track record speak for themselves. His profound knowledge and exceptional service in various capacities have earned him numerous accolades and the respect of his peers. His dedication to fostering peace and development within the Niger Delta region has not gone unnoticed and it stands to reason that his expertise will be highly beneficial to the Amnesty Programme.

“While it is undeniably advantageous to consider party loyalty and the reward system within the political structure, it is also wise to recognize that for certain appointments, the encompassing need of the nation should supersede partisan considerations.

“The role of Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme is a sensitive one that directly affects the welfare of a distinctive region and its people, where the capacity to navigate multifaceted challenges must take precedence.

“There is a greater need to assure our countrymen and women that our leadership transcends political affiliations and that the best interests of our nation’s peace, unity, and progress are always at the forefront of your administration’s actions.

“It is therefore my belief that Chief Otuaro’s appointment stands as a testament to a government that values competence and is committed to the wellbeing of all its citizens.

“As we navigate the internal dynamics of party politics, let us be reminded of the greater vision which brought us together—a vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and unified Nigeria. With the 2027 Presidential elections on the horizon, the inclusiveness and stability your administration reflects will only serve to strengthen our great party and reassure our supporters and detractors alike that we are a party for all Nigerians, irrespective of affiliations.

“In closing, I urge you to stand firm by decisions made in the nation’s interest and by the bedrock principles of integrity and inclusivity that have marked your administration. In serving all Nigerians, we affirm those are the qualities that truly keep the flame of our democratic values and the All Progressives Congress burning bright.”
