President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written the Nigerian Senate, seeking the screening and confirmation of Ola Olukoyede as chairman of antigraft body, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that Tinubu had few days ago appointed Olukoyede as substantive chairman of EFCC.
The new appointment followed the resignation of the suspended executive chairman of the anti-graft body, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The president’s request for Olukoyede’s confirmation is contained in a letter read during Tuesday’s plenary by Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate.

Tinubu also asked the Senate to confirm Mohammed Hassan as secretary of the commission.
Olukoyede will serve for a term of four years, if confirmed by the Senate.
