Tiwa Savage Says She’s Open to Becoming a Second Wife

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage has opened up about her views on marriage, saying she would not mind becoming a second wife if she finds the right man.

Speaking during a recent episode of the American podcast Lip Service, which went viral on Friday, the Afrobeats star admitted that her dating options have become limited as she grows older. According to her, most of the men who show interest are either in their 50s or already married.

“I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be,” Tiwa said with a laugh. “If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife.”

 

The award-winning singer, who has a son, explained that she values peace and respect in relationships and would not be a troublesome co-wife. She added that she would live harmoniously with the first wife.

“I think I can get along with the first wife. She’s going to love me because I’m not going to be troublesome,” Tiwa said. “I’ll be going on tours, I won’t stress anyone. I’m very respectful. I know she’s the first wife and I’ll give her that respect.

Tiwa Savage was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TBillz. The couple got married in 2013 but parted ways in 2018 after several public controversies. Their marriage produced a son.

The singer has since focused on her music career, becoming one of Afrobeats’ biggest global stars while maintaining a strong presence in both local and international entertainment scenes.
