A Nigerian businessman, Tony Elumelu has decried the current economic crisis ravaging the country.

In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, the popular economist said the country has not had electricity for about five days now while prices of diesel and food items continue to skyrocket.

According to him, he took out time to listen to his colleagues who expressed their pains.

According to his Tweet: “This morning, I am listening to my colleagues at the office bemoan the very pressing issues that they face every day in this country, and how things have been getting worse and worse.

“No electricity for 5 days, hikes in the price of diesel, frightening food inflation, etc”.
