Tony Tetuila, a veteran singer and former member of The Remedies, recently addressed claims made by his ex-bandmate, Eedris Abdulkareem, suggesting that Tetuila was accepted into the band out of pity.

Abdulkareem stated in a recent podcast interview that he and Eldee were the original members of The Remedies, and Tetuila later joined after they met him at a show in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to Eedris, Tetuila was perceived as “desperate to sing,” and they allowed him to join to increase the band’s song repertoire.

However, Tetuila took to his TikTok page to share his response to Abdulkareem’s claims. In the clip, Tetuila expressed his disappointment with his former bandmate’s statements.

He refuted the notion that he was accepted into The Remedies out of pity, emphasizing that his contribution to the group was significant and based on his musical talent rather than sympathy.

This public disagreement between Tetuila and Abdulkareem sheds light on the complexities and dynamics within musical groups, especially regarding the narratives surrounding their formation and membership.

Tetuila’s response highlights the importance of setting the record straight and defending one’s reputation against false or misleading claims.

“I am highly disappointed in this guy, he is a bloody liar, how could a grown man like this be telling lies? Na GOD go punish who dey lie,” he said.
