Tragedy struck the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as one of its operatives reportedly took his own life at his residence in Abuja.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, has left colleagues and officials at the Commission stunned.

The deceased, described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming by his peers, was a member of Course 5 within the EFCC ranks.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to uncover the reasons behind the operative’s tragic decision.
Sources within the Commission disclosed that the deceased had been facing challenges with his immediate superior, a female boss, for some time. However, it remains unclear whether these issues directly influenced his choice to end his life.
Due to the ongoing investigation, the EFCC has refrained from disclosing the name of the operative involved. The Commission continues to mourn the loss and is providing support to colleagues affected by the tragic event.
