The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway witnessed a fatal auto crash on Thursday, which claimed the lives of five people.

The crash, which happened at Fidiwo bridge along the highway around 2:48 pm, also left four people injured with different degrees of severity.
A Prime bus with the plate number, MUS 191 HA, and a Toyota Camry car with the registration, AKD 754 BG, were involved in the accident.

Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun Sector Command, reported the accident to the media.
She said that the accident affected nine people in total, six females and three males.
Okpe stated, “Three females and two males died in the crash.
“The crash was likely caused by reckless overtaking, speed and tyre burst, which resulted in loss of control and veering off the road.”
She further said that the injured people were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, while the bodies of the dead were taken to FOS Morgue, Ipara.
