  • A young boy has breath his last, after being hit by a stray bullet.

  • The bullet was from the rifle of a vigilante, who was trying to bring orderliness to the area.

A 12-year-old boy, identified as Adnan Bulana has been confirmed dead, after being hit by a stray bullet.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the vigilante in question had gone to arrest a group of hoodlums who were disturbing the neighborhood when the incident happened.

The incident happened the Soje ‘A’ area of Minna, Niger State.

 

The vigilantes had gone to arrest the hoodlums, when the young boy, whose mother had sent on an errand came in contact with them and the hoodlums.

It was gathered that the criminals had resisted arrest, and began to throw stones and other objects at the vigilante memebrs, when one of them cocked his gun and attempted to shoot to disperse them.

Confirming the incident in a statement released on Thursday, the spokesperson of the state command, SP Wasiu Abiodun said;

“On 1st April, 2025, at about 1220hrs, report received indicated that a yet-to-be-identified group/vigilante invaded Soje A community to arrest miscreants in the area, but in the process, the suspected miscreants attacked the said group and as a result, the group fired gunshots and unfortunately, stray pellets hit one Adnan Bulana, 12 years old,”

“Consequently, a group of youths mobilised and attacked the vigilante office in Kpakungu. Police patrol teams were moved to the area, and normalcy was restored. The victim was rushed to the general hospital Minna, where he was confirmed d3ad.

“However, an investigation into the incident has commenced with a view to identify and effect arrest accordingly.”
