Troops of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation FANSAN YANMA, have successfully repelled separate bandit attacks in Zamfara State’s Tsafe and Maru Local Government Areas on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
As reported by Zagazola Makama, the first incident unfolded around 9:30 a.m. in Keta Town, Tsafe LGA, when armed bandits stormed the area, firing indiscriminately.
Swiftly responding to the threat, the military engaged the assailants in a gun duel and eventually forced them to retreat.

Later that same day, at about 3:30 p.m., another group of bandits struck Dankurji Village in Unguwar Galadima, located in the Dansadau District of Maru LGA. Sadly, the attack claimed the life of 28-year-old Malam Audu before the attackers fled the scene.
During the incident, a 12-year-old girl identified as Fatima Ibrahim sustained injuries amid the exchange of gunfire. She was quickly evacuated to a nearby medical facility and is currently receiving treatment.
No casualties were reported among the military personnel who participated in the operation. Troops remain stationed across the region to discourage further incursions and help restore normalcy.
Two Suspected Kidnappers in Custody as Police Recover Weapons in Taraba
The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two suspected kidnappers and rescued seven abducted victims in separate operations across the country, according to a statement issued by the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The statement, signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed that the arrests were made following credible intelligence and coordinated efforts by police operatives.
