Troops Neutralize 1,166 Terrorists, Rescue 721 Kidnapped Persons

Troops Recover Arms From IPOB, ESN Camp in Anambra

Nigeria’s military has announced that its troops have neutralized 1,166 terrorists, including several high-ranking commanders, and arrested 1,096 suspects in the month of August alone.

Among the neutralized terrorist commanders are notable figures such as Munir Arika, Sani Dilla (aka Dan Hausawan Jibilarram), Ameer Modu, Dan Fulani Fari Fari, Bakoura Araina Chikin, Dungusu, Abu Darda, and Abu Rijab.

In addition, several other terrorist leaders were neutralized in the North-West region, including Kachalla Dan Ali Garin Fadama, Kachalla Dan Mani Na Inna, Kachalla Basiru Zakariyya, Sani Baka Tsine, Inusa Zangon Kuzi, Ibrahim, Tukur, and Kamilu Buzaru.

The military’s operations also resulted in the rescue of 721 kidnapped persons, bringing hope and relief to their families.

Furthermore, the troops recovered an impressive cache of weapons, including 391 weapons, 15,234 ammunition, and stolen products worth over N5 billion (N5,045,160,010.00).

It was revealed that the recovered weapons include 208 AK47 rifles, 54 locally fabricated guns, 53 Dane guns, 36 pump action guns, and assorted ammunition.

Maj Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that the military was on high alert and has increased its readiness to protect the country from further terrorist aggression.

Buba urged citizens to understand that the war was not a quick fix but a long and enduring military operation, assuring them that in the end, the terrorists will be destroyed, and the nation will be safe and peaceful once again.
