Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has provided an update on his injury recovery.

He underwent surgery for a thigh injury in February, which he sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

“I have had my first session on grass with the ball and I am just a matter of days to rejoining the group,” the PAOK Salonica of Greece defender disclosed in an interview with Eagle7fm

“It was first feared I will be out for three, four months, but it is now just seven weeks after surgery.”

Now, the 30-year-old centre-back is expected to rejoin PAOK in time to aid their pursuit of the Greek League title.

PAOK currently trails AEK Athens by just two points in the league standings.
