Super Eagles’ captain Troost-Ekong raised N47 million at a glittering gala on Sunday at Lagos’ Radisson Blu, integrating charity, sports and entertainment to support initiatives aimed at young people.

Government and sports leaders including NFF president Ibrahim Gusau, former coach Augustine Eguavoen, NSC Chair Shehu Dikko joined in the festivities.

Also, Presidential Sports Aide Adeboye Adeyinka, and Super Eagles’ legends Joseph Yobo and Brown Ideye also expressed their support.

Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, and Tolu Arokodare, who are all current Super Eagles players also contributed to the excitement, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Bovi, and Funny Bone made things fun.

The auction stole the spotlight. A signed June 2024 Nigeria all-stars jersey went for N27 million to NSC Chairman Dikko.

In addition, Funny Bone snapped up Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal jersey for N5.4 million; the Atom Foundation secured Declan Rice’s shirt for N10 million; Phyna claimed Anthony Joshua’s sparring glove at N2.5 million; and Everest Ekong bought a Slawn art piece for N2.2 million.

Troost-Ekong confirmed that these funds will fuel sports, education and skills training.

Therefore, the foundation’s signature Camp NexGen will unite STEM with sports in a three-day STEAM experience where 150 children build drones, code games and pitch business ideas—planting seeds for Nigeria’s future innovators.

“We are not the future anymore. We are the present. It’s time to empower tomorrow’s change-makers.”

Since launching on June 2, 2024, TEF has distributed over 15,000 notebooks to 50+ Akwa Ibom schools, upgraded orphanage facilities and backed emerging music talents through community outreach.

Earlier, the TEF Charity Match at Mobolaji Johnson Arena raised N10 million from ticket sales and drew 15,000 online viewers.

Team Green beat Team White 7–5 in regular time, but Team White won the shootout 4–2.

Moreso, when combined with the gala total, TEF has mobilized nearly N60 million for its programs.

Troost-Ekong declared:

“The Troost-Ekong Foundation is more than a charity. It is a movement. Together we can unlock talent, spark innovation and widen pathways to success.”
