Former Donald Trump has announced that the United States military has launched what he described as “major combat operations” against Iran, declaring that the mission is aimed at eliminating what he called imminent threatsfrom the Iranian regime.
In a video message shared on social media, Trump said the military action was necessary to protect Americans and US allies from Iran’s growing nuclear and missile capabilities.

“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime,” Trump said.
He vowed that the United States would ensure Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon, stressing that the operation targets the country’s nuclear infrastructure, missile forces, and military assets.
“We will ensure Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon,” he added.
Trump also called on the Iranian people to rise against the Islamic clerical leadership in Tehran, urging them to take control of their future.
“Take over your government, it will be yours to take,” he said.
The comments came as the Israel and the United States launched coordinated strikes against Iran, targeting missile installations and naval assets.
Trump described the attacks as a “noble mission”, arguing that Tehran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons and long-range missiles posed a direct threat to the US, Europe, and American troops stationed abroad.
Despite claims that earlier strikes had crippled Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Trump said intelligence showed renewed efforts to rebuild the programme and expand missile development.
“They attempted to rebuild their nuclear program and continue developing long-range missiles that can threaten our allies and soon reach the American homeland,” he said.
According to Trump, the strikes mark the beginning of a “massive and ongoing operation” designed to destroy Iran’s missile industry, neutralise its naval forces, and weaken regional proxy groups.
He also issued a direct warning to Iran’s security forces, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, calling on them to surrender.
“You must lay down your weapons and have complete immunity, or face certain death,” Trump warned.
