The announcement came hours after the US and Iran agreed to a temporary ceasefire, with Tehran reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.

Trump also indicated in a separate post that his administration is discussing “Tariff and Sanctions relief with Iran,” signalling ongoing diplomatic engagement amid tensions.

AFP reported that the president’s statements come amid intense scrutiny from US lawmakers and international observers over the ceasefire terms and the risk of escalation in the Middle East.
