Thomas Tuchel, the Bayern Munich boss, has taken responsibility for Sadio Mane’s departure from the club as the former Liverpool star completes his £35m transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

During his one-year stint in Bavaria, Mane’s performance did not match his outstanding six-year run at Liverpool.

  • Mane joined Bayern last summer.
  • A bust-up with Leroy Sane marked the beginning of the end.
  • He concluded the season with 12 goals in all competitions.

Tuchel admits he couldn’t bring out the best in the forward, leading to the decision to part ways.

I understand he feels hurt, and I am not happy either.
