Thomas Tuchel, the Bayern Munich boss, has taken responsibility for Sadio Mane’s departure from the club as the former Liverpool star completes his £35m transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
During his one-year stint in Bavaria, Mane’s performance did not match his outstanding six-year run at Liverpool.
- Mane joined Bayern last summer.
- A bust-up with Leroy Sane marked the beginning of the end.
- He concluded the season with 12 goals in all competitions.
Tuchel admits he couldn’t bring out the best in the forward, leading to the decision to part ways.
In response to Mane’s exit, Tuchel revealed, “We had a big hug and agreed that the current situation isn’t ideal, but it’s the best choice for both of us.
I understand he feels hurt, and I am not happy either.
