Two Armed Robbers Arrested in Ekiti,  32 Stolen Underwear, Arms, Ammunition Recovered | Daily Report Nigeria

Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Olusesan Segun and Kareem Gbenga in Ado-Ekiti.

DSP Abutu Sunday, the Spokesperson of the command, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, July 15.

According to him, the suspects were arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout.

Following their arrest, 32 stolen underwears, arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

The suspects also confessed to being members of Eiye confraternity cult group.

“Following credible intelligence received, detectives from the Command swooped on a criminal hideout at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti on 13/07/2022 and arrested one Olusesan Segun a.k.a ALWAYS and Kareem Gbenga while others took to their heels,” the statement reads.

“Items recovered from the suspects include one cut to size locally made single barrel gun,one locally made pistol, 51 live cartridges, 32 suspected stolen underwears, 20 suspected stolen aluminum window frames, 8 suspected handsets, some wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and some wraps of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they are into armed robbery alongside those who are currently at large. They further disclosed that they hawk illicit drugs and that they are members of the supreme Eiye confraternity.

“The suspects arrested will be arraigned accordingly while effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
