Officers from the Isokoko Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two men for allegedly vandalising concrete roadside barriers in the Ile-Zik area of the state.
The suspects, identified as 26-year-old Peter James and 24-year-old Lesipi Adamu, were apprehended on April 22, 2025, after police received credible intelligence from vigilant members of the public.
They were reportedly caught red-handed removing iron reinforcements from the barriers.

During the arrest, officers recovered tools believed to have been used in the crime, including two sledgehammers, a pair of scissors, and two metal cutting saws.
Police authorities revealed that other accomplices managed to flee the scene, but efforts are underway to track them down.
Following an initial investigation, the two suspects were charged to court for conspiracy, theft, and deliberate damage to public infrastructure. The seized tools have been officially recorded and presented as evidence in court.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, denounced the incident, stating that acts of vandalism undermine public safety and damage essential infrastructure. He reiterated the command’s dedication to protecting lives and public property throughout the state.

Police authorities in Anambra State have launched an investigation into the suspected murder of a pregnant woman whose body was discovered hanging from a cashew tree in Ideani, located in the Idemili North Local Government Area.
The lifeless body was found on Monday along the Uke/Ideani road. While the initial assumption was suicide, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has expressed strong suspicions that the woman may have been murdered and staged to appear as though she took her own life.
