Two people have been reported dead, after a vehicle plunged into a River in Bauchi State.

This tragic incident happened in a community known as Tilde in Toro Local Government Area, along Jos-Bauchi expressway during the weekend.

Further investigations showed that a green Opel Vectra with registration number JNN 348 NC, which contained seven passenger plunged into the river, and five of the passengers were reported to have drowned.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the incident, he also added that the police have identified one of the victims, known as Ibrahim Rabi’u, age 41, from Miya-Barkate of Toro Local Government, are currently working to identify the other victim’s. He also said that the identities of the corpse were yet to be ascertained.
