Parents were advised not to send their children to school while security agencies assess the situation.
Both Grange School and Avi-Cenna International School confirmed that new security measures will take effect when classes resume on Monday. These include stricter access control, password-based entry systems, and a ban on parents remaining on school premises after student drop-off.
Meanwhile, Greensprings School, another high-profile private school in Lagos, addressed concerns after reports of the Ikeja incident spread online. Although none of its campuses received any threat, the school said it is monitoring developments closely.
In a message to parents, Greensprings School stated:
“We have been informed that two schools in the Ikeja axis received reported threat messages. The relevant security authorities were immediately notified and are handling the situation.”
The school further reassured families:
“Greensprings School has not received any threat of any kind, and there is no indication that any of our campuses are at risk.”
As a precaution, one Greensprings campus located near the affected area closed earlier than usual, with parents notified directly about dismissal plans.
The school emphasized that the decision was taken to ensure calm and maintain safety across its community.
“The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and families remain our highest priority,” the statement added.
Security agencies are expected to continue investigations while school administrators remain on alert.
