Two (2) police training instructors has been sacked by the Mozambique Government after they were found guilty of impregnating fifteen (15) students in total at a police training school.
It is learnt that the 15 female police trainees had been impregnated after being harassed into having relationships with the instructors.
Confirming this, Mozambique’s Minister of Justice,Constitutional and Religious Affairs, Helena Kida, disclosed that an inquiry into the incident has commenced.
“The two have so far been expelled from the corporation and a culmination of the disciplinary proceedings instituted against them. They have been accused of sexual harassments which led to 15 trainees becoming pregnant,” Kida said.
The two police trainees were accused of sexual abuse on the 15 women trainees at the Matalana Police Practical School located within the outskirts of Maputo.
Reports of female recruits’ harassment initially popped up at same facility in August, as justice has since been demanded and advocated for the women by the Mozambique Police Association.
However, Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, has assured the 15 pregnant trainees of their continuous training at a future date despite having their training course cut short.
