U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Suffer Semi-final Defeat to Gambia | Daily Report Nigeria

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles failed to make it to the final of the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a 1-0 defeat to the Young Scorpions of Gambia.

Adama Bojang netted the winning goal for the Gambians on seven minutes after a mistake from the Flying Eagles captain, Daniel Bamaiyi.

The goal turned out to be the only shot on target Gambia managed for the entire duration of the game.

The Flying Eagles fought hard to get back into the game but were let down by their lack of creativity in the final third.

Ladan Bosso’s side were awarded a penalty six minutes from time after substitute Ahmed Abdullahi was fouled inside the box.

The KAA Gent forward however hit the woodwork to the agony of his teammates.
