“Today Death visited me and took one of the most precious gifts life ever handed to me, my sister,” he wrote.
“The one who birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know today. The one who opened my eyes to what life truly is. One of the kindest souls I’ve ever known, and I am blessed to call her my sister.”

Franklin expressed his heartbreak and frustration, questioning why cancer had to take someone so dear to him.
“CANCER WHY?” he cried out in the post.

He then shared how their bond grew stronger after the death of their father in 2004. As a young law student at the time, he was sent to live with her and her husband in Abuja. A year later, during a holiday trip to Lagos she arranged, he found his path in the entertainment industry.

According to Ubi, that trip was life-changing:
“That trip changed everything. It was the beginning of my journey and the beginning of Ubi Franklin,” he recalled.

Even after he began working closely with his elder brother in Lagos, his sister always reminded him of where he started.

“She always told me, ‘Before anyone else, you were my PA,’ and she kept calling me that until her last days,” he said.

He noted that he spent quality time with her in April, May, and June. Before he travelled to England earlier this month, he visited her in Lagos, not knowing it would be their final moment together. On July 6, she returned to Abuja to spend time with her family.

Then came the devastating call.

“Yesterday, I got a call from my siblings. She had been moved to the ICU. I did everything I could to reach Abuja, but while I was in the air, she passed,” he revealed.

Though she died before his arrival, the news was withheld from him until hours later.
“When I landed in Abuja at 4:20am, she had already passed, but they waited until 4pm to break the news to me,” he wrote.

Despite the pain, Franklin said he remains grateful for the impact she had on his life.
“Through the pain, I am thankful. Thankful that I got to know her, to walk with her, to be shaped by her. Thankful that I was blessed with such a soul as my sister — my backbone, my rock, my biggest cheerleader.”

He concluded by acknowledging the love others had for her, noting how many had testified to her generous spirit and kindness.

“This hurts deeply. It has left a scar in my heart. But I will forever love you. And I know… you’re in a better place,” he added.

Tributes from friends, fans, and colleagues have continued to pour in, celebrating the life of a woman many described as compassionate, humble, and nurturing.
