Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, has expressed delight after opening his goalscoring account with the French club.

Messi, who signed for PSG as a free agent after leaving Barcelona in the last transfer window, had gone as many games without finding the back of the net.

Fans have been kept waiting for far too long for the Argentine superstar to open his account..

However, the striker scored a sublime volley against English Champions, Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday, taking the game out of the Citizens’ reach deep into the second half.

speaking about scoring his first goal, Messi said;
“I am very happy to have scored. I haven’t played much recently. Only one game [at the Parc des Princes], this is the second one here. I am gradually adapting to my new team, to my teammates.

“The more we play together [with Neymar and Mbappe], the better it will be. We must all grow together, increase our level of play. We played well. We have to give our best and continue to do so,” Messi said.
