Governor Udom Emmanuel has warned the people of Akwa Ibom State to be wary of politicians who intend to engage them in anti-peace activities in pursuit of power, emphasizing that no political venture is worth jeopardizing the safety of any person or their family.

Governor Emmanuel issued the reprimand while speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, New Year’s Eve gathering held at the party secretariat in Atan Offot, Uyo, on Wednesday.

He thanked the people for their continued trust and support for the PDP, saying that “today if you talk about the PDP in Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State will be rated as one of the strongest.”

I thank you for your loyalty and for standing firm for our party, as well as for contributing to our party’s national strength.

Thank you for having faith in this umbrella. We will make certain that this umbrella remains intact and covers everyone.”

The governor, who is also the state’s PDP leader, assured that his administration will continue to work hard to ensure that all ongoing and upcoming projects deliver on the people’s mandate and fulfill the party-approved manifesto for his government.

“When I ran for office, I used the PDP logo on my manifesto.”

We still have a little more than a year, but I want to reassure the party that all ongoing projects will be completed.”

“We’ll work day and night to make sure we deliver on the manifesto we presented to this party.” “I will never act selfishly.”

“Everything I do is for the people of Akwa Ibom.”

As a result, he advised those given positions of responsibility to faithfully carry out their duties and avoid activities that may jeopardize their safety, while also ensuring continuous improvement in the welfare of party officers at all levels.

“I am advising you as my brothers and sisters, nothing on planet earth is worth your life,” he said.

“Don’t accept things for a peanut that will affect your life or the lives of your family members.”

Anyone who truly desires to serve you in the way that God desires will never charge such a high price, Gov Udom said.

Governor Emmanuel also urged all party faithful in the state to band together with the PDP leadership in the state to contribute the required quota of support to the party at the national level in order for the party to reclaim power at the center and restore the depleted economy, which he stated is the yearning of all Nigerians at the moment.

Elder Aniekan Akpan, State Chairman of the PDP, praised the governor for keeping the New Year’s Eve celebration going for the past six years of his administration.

He claims that by doing so, the party has felt the impact of the government while the governor has felt the pulse of the party, thereby stabilizing the party in the state.

The party Chairman praised the Udom Emmanuel-led government for helping the people of Atan Offot by providing a transformer to power the party secretariat and the entire community, describing him as the PDP’s pride.
