She explained that both she and her parents were shocked and embarrassed by the publication, which claimed she had been assaulted by the politician. According to her, the false story was politically motivated and designed to damage Esinrogunjo’s reputation.

“I was never sexually abused by anyone. The rumours circulating online are lies and politically driven. People should ignore such reports,” she said.

Aishat recounted that she met Esinrogunjo when she faced financial difficulties in continuing her education and was advised to seek his assistance because of his known generosity in the community.

Her father, Mr. Kamardeen, also dismissed the allegation, saying his daughter was raised properly and has never been involved in any scandal.

“When I first heard the report of a 15 year old named ‘Aisha Kamardeen’ being abused, I never thought it referred to my daughter. My daughter is 17 and will be 18 in February. The story was fabricated to destroy the image of someone who has been helping the poor,” he said.

The family urged the public to disregard the false publication and warned against spreading fake news that could harm innocent people.
