A memo issued by the University Registrar, Mr Ademola Bobola, and obtained on Monday, stated that the affected students had repeatedly ignored reminders and would not be allowed to participate in the examinations which commenced today, September 29, 2025.

“About 5,000 students have been identified in this category of defaulters. These students SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED to write the forthcoming examination,” the memo read in part.

The circular directed the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments to publish the names of all defaulting students in their respective colleges and faculties not later than 8am on Monday.

To guarantee compliance, the University Management appointed a special Enforcement Task Force headed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) to monitor and enforce the Senate’s directive.

Bobola further emphasised that all stakeholders must cooperate fully to maintain the university’s academic standards.
