A postgraduate student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has been abducted by unknown gunmen while jogging within the university campus during her morning exercise routine.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, was made public by a user on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), identified as @theoriaku, who disclosed that the victim is a friend and currently pursuing a PhD at the institution.
According to the post, the kidnappers have since made contact and are demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for her release.
“A friend of mine and a postgraduate student (Ph.D.) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is currently missing. She was kidnapped this morning during a morning walk/jogging inside the school,” the post read.

The poster also accused university security personnel of negligence, stating that the institution’s internal security had failed to take swift action following the abduction.
As of press time, neither the university management nor security agencies have issued an official statement regarding the incident. Attempts to reach university officials have also proven abortive.
