UPDATE: Kidnapped Imo Catholic Priest Regains Freedom

A priest kidnapped in imo state has regained his freedom.

Recall that Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike, who is the parish priest of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church was kidnapped on his way to his house after an assignment.

 

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the priest was abducted along Alaiyi community in Obollo, Imo state on November 5, 2024.

In recent news, the Chancellor and Secretary of the Catholic Diocese of Okigwe, Very Rev. Fr. Princewill Iwuanyanwu, in a statement confirmed that the priest was released in the early hours of Monday, November 11.

“I am directed to inform you that one of our priests, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Azubuike who was kidnapped on the evening of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, has been released,” the statement read. 

“He was released in the early hours of Monday, November 11, 2024. While thanking you for your fervent prayers and show of love, I remain sincerely yours.”
