Ajax, the Eredivisie giants, have reportedly finalized the signing of Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom.
Having previously been a part of Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough, the 27-year-old has now joined the ranks of the former European champions.
Akpom has officially committed to a five-year contract with the club.
In order to secure the player, Ajax is set to pay a transfer fee of €12.3 million along with an additional €2 million in potential add-ons.
Impressively, during the last season, the striker emerged as the leading goal scorer in the Championship, amassing 28 goals across 38 matches.

While Akpom began his career at Arsenal, he faced challenges in securing a spot in the first-team lineup.
As a right-footed player, he underwent several loan spells with English clubs before making a transfer to the Greek Super League’s PAOK FC in 2018.

Eventually, in 2020, he made the move to Middlesbrough.
