Trump emphasized Iran’s inability to defend against US attacks and warned that interference with maritime routes in the Strait of Hormuz could trigger further action.

He hailed the US military as “the most lethal, powerful, and effective force anywhere in the world.”

The strike comes amid heightened tensions following earlier US and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, which reportedly killed Iran’s supreme leader.

In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone attacks against US bases and allied installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the wider Gulf region.

Civilian and military casualties have been reported, including the deaths of at least 168 children in an Iranian school airstrike.

Maritime security remains fragile, with restricted vessel movements and ongoing threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House has not disclosed casualty figures from the Kharg Island strike, focusing instead on demonstrating military capability and deterrence.
