Rochas Okorocha fires at Hope Uzodinma

Former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has claimed that the incumbent governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma, has been inaugurating roads that his administration constructed.

Okorocha, who is now a lawmaker representing Imo West at the Senate, stated this while reacting to last Friday’s inauguration of Akachi Road in Owerri by the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan.

Rochas reacted through his spokesperson, Sam Onwuemeodo, saying the road was constructed by his (Rocha s) administration in 2011.

“The Akachi Road which Governor Uzodinma is inaugurating today was constructed by Okorocha the moment he came in as governor in 2011,” he said.

“The place where the Akachi Road was constructed was a thick forest. Okorocha constructed the road, it was completed and inaugurated.

Meanwhile, the initiator of the famous ‘Iberiberism’ slogan was yesterday taken custody for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

While reports were rife Rochas was arrested, the lawmaker has come out to clear the air, saying he was only called for questioning and not arrested as earlier speculated.
