The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to demonstrate love for the country by promoting free and fair elections and rejecting corruption.
In a Valentine’s Day message posted on his verified X handle on Saturday, Obi said loving Nigeria goes beyond emotions and must be reflected in sacrifice, discipline and commitment to justice and good governance.

According to him, Saint Valentine symbolises honesty, compassion, respect and devotion to the common good.

He called on young Nigerians to celebrate the day responsibly and renew their commitment to national development.
Obi stated that true patriotism involves rejecting vices such as corruption, greed, division and mediocrity, while supporting leaders with capacity, character and commitment.
He added that Nigerians must not only point out faults but also propose solutions rooted in justice, competence, transparency and investment in education and healthcare.
“On this Valentine’s Day, let us embrace love that strengthens families, communities, and our nation. A new Nigeria is possible when love becomes action,” he wrote.
