“Lagos is the state slowing the whole Nigeria down and at this point after thinking through all of this I think Lagos should be made a country of its own, here’s why, why must everything come through Lagos,” he said.
He questioned why all imports are funneled through Lagos, despite the existence of other viable seaports that could ease congestion and distribute opportunities more evenly across the country.
“Like anyone that imports anything, the container must land through Lagos and they have other options to create other seaports. Why must everything land and come through Lagos? Lagos is actually slowing Nigeria down,” he added.
His comments have since triggered heated conversations online, with Nigerians divided on whether his proposal is practical or simply provocative.
