Instead, his recent online posts forced the club to act.

“Boniface has caused real trouble at Werder Bremen. The reason is strange social media posts. Now the striker has to report to the bosses,” – a German outlet reported.

Bremen invited him for private talks to clear things up.

Online, Boniface posted images and messages that split opinion.

He shared a photo of a damaged car mirror on Snapchat, then posted this on Instagram:

“If you waste your money on too many women, you will not achieve anything in life. Find yourself one or two women and settle down. At most three women, or if you are going through a lot, four is also okay.”

The message spread quickly at home and abroad.

Even international stars joined the conversation.

Canadian rapper Drake reacted with a laughing emoji, and Boniface answered publicly, “Bro, dm for more advice,” which pushed the posts even further into the spotlight

Many Nigerian fans treat his posts as playful, but Bremen’s leaders found the messages unclear and called for an internal review.

Neither the club nor the player issued a public statement.

They chose to handle the matter behind closed doors.

On the pitch, Boniface has shown promise and patchy form.

He created an assist in Bremen’s 4–0 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach on his debut. Yet he struggled in the 3–0 loss to Freiburg, where his movement drew coach criticism.

He was too much everywhere. It should be the case that he stays more in the centre. It was not as I wanted,” – Horst Steffen said after the Freiburg game.

Still, Steffen praised his training energy and wanted him to sharpen his tactical discipline.

Victor Boniface moved to Bremen after a proposed loan to AC Milan collapsed because of medical concerns over a recurring knee problem.

Clubs remain cautious with that history, which partly explains the loan to Bremen.
