The Rossoneri agreed a reported €5m loan, with a buy option set around €24–25m, and the medical programme has been more extensive than usual.
The 24-year-old striker started his medical tests at AC Milan facilities before undergoing the required CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) screening and being then referred to the specialist orthopaedic centre at Galeazzi Hospital for further assessment, sources report.
Further tests have been scheduled by the club doctors so as to be fully sure about the striker’s fitness, prior to any final paperwork.
Boniface’s medical scrutiny follows a record that includes past ligament surgery and muscular problems, which prompted Milan to take extra precautions during the clearance process.
While the club appears keen to push the deal across the line, the transfer will only be completed if Boniface clears the in-depth checks.
Along the line, this transfer is agreed in principle; however, it has final medical clearance as one of the conditions attached to it.
So, due to Milan’s cautious approach, supporters should not expect any clarity until after this second round of tests is completed.
