Victor Boniface’ Milan move has stalled after fresh scans raised concerns about his right knee.

Scans flagged an issue after the striker completed medicals, so AC Milan paused talks over the proposed €5m loan with a €25m buy option from Bayer Leverkusen.

The club asked Leverkusen to lower the fee while it reassesses the deal.

Meanwhile, Milan is already lining up alternatives, including Conrad Harder, Rasmus Hojlund, Nicolas Jackson and Breel Embolo.

Doctors ran initial checks at the Centro Ambrosiano, then sent Boniface for further scans at the Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute.

Concerns focus on Boniface injury record – two ACL operations and recurring groin problems which have limited his availability in recent seasons.

Buchi Laba, popular Nigerian journalist said Boniface “passed his medicals” after three checks, but football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported Milan still wants a final orthopaedic verdict.

Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri warned the latest scans have cooled enthusiasm and left the deal “at real risk” of collapsing.
