Victor Osimhen achieved a remarkable milestone, matching the legendary Diego Maradona’s scoring record at Napoli, as he secured a hat-trick in their commanding 6-1 victory over Sassuolo on Wednesday.
According to Opta, a renowned statistics platform, Victor Osimhen becomes only the third player in Napoli’s history to score ten or more goals for four consecutive seasons. This achievement parallels Maradona’s illustrious tenure between 1984 and 1988.
The first Napoli player to accomplish this feat was Attila Sallustro, who set the record from 1929/30 to 1932/33.
