Victor Osimhen has turned down Galatasaray’s €75m bid, holding out for a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United are leading the chase, but money remains a big hurdle.

With his release clause set to expire on July 15, the clock is ticking.
Victor Osimhen has reportedly said “no” to Galatasaray, who have offered him a tempting offer in an attempt to secure his services permanently following his successful loan spell in Istanbul.

The Istanbul giants are so keen on retaining the Nigerian striker that they are willing to pay the €75m release clause in his Napoli contract “without batting an eyelid,” according to reports relayed by The Peoples Person.

However, the 26-year-old’s rejection of Galatasaray’s advances comes as welcome news to Manchester United, who remain strongly interested in securing his signature.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via il Napolista, Osimhen is “dreaming” of a Premier League move, with the publication noting that:
“there is no agreement between his desires (the Premier) and reality.”
The striker has returned to Naples upon the expiration of his loan deal at Galatasaray, where he enjoyed a prolific campaign, scoring 37 goals across all competitions.
Despite his impressive form in Turkey, Napoli have no plans to reintegrate Osimhen into their squad, and the Scudetto winners are waiting for concrete movement in the transfer market.
At the moment, United seem to be his strongest suitor among the Premier League clubs, according to The People’s Person.
However, considering their financial predicament, it is not far-fetched to assume the Mancunians are neither in the position to meet his wage demands nor pay his release clause.
Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports, via United in Focus, that Manchester United have been told they have a “burning magnetism” that could attract Osimhen to sign for them, despite their lack of European football next season.
The Red Devils are still considered to be a serious option for the player.
Osimhen’s wage demands continue to be a huge problem for the Old Trafford club, though.
The Nigeria international continues to demand a salary worth €12m per year, which is considered to be too great for the Old Trafford side.
The striker’s release clause of €75m from Napoli continues to play an important role in the transfer market.

Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that the clause will be active until 15 July, giving teams outside Serie A around another two weeks to formulate a deal.
This figure may not be as important as first thought, though.
With no bidding war emerging for Osimhen, Napoli are likely to have to take what they can get for the player at some point.
Al-Hilal are knocking on the Nigerian star’s door, prepared to offer him a lucrative contract worth €40m annually.
However, he is yet to accept their proposal, with reports suggesting :
“the dreamer is not disturbed, who undauntedly guides himself towards an unknown destination. Osimhen has always liked the Premier League.”
