A violent confrontation erupted on Saturday between rival groups from Kwari Berger and Anguwan Roka areas in Maitumbi, Minna, resulting in injuries to a vigilante member.

According to the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the incident occurred on June 7, 2025, around 3 pm at Angwan Kadara near the Railway area of Maitumbi.

The fight involved some miscreants from the two communities.

During the clash, a vigilante known as Waja sustained injuries and was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Minna for treatment.

Security operatives from Maitumbi alongside other agencies under Operation Flush quickly responded to the scene.

The police managed to disperse the suspects and restore peace in the area. Efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible are currently ongoing.
