The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a new date for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the country.
Emeka Nwajiuba, the Minister of State for Education, disclosed that the exams will commence on August 4 and end on September 5, 2020.

The examination earlier slated for Apr was postponed indefinitely owing to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The minister who was speaking during the daily briefing by the PTF on Covid-19, stated that the new dates were agreed upon following a meeting on Monday morning.
Nwajuiba also announced that the registration for the National Examination Council (NECO) examination will continue for those who are yet to register.
He further stated that revision materials and facilities have been available by the PTF for interested schools.
According to the minister, NECO and NAPTEP exams will commence as soon as the WAEC exams are completed.
